Job Description:
Role And Position Objectives:
o Be part of a team comprised of design, system engineering, and electrical engineering to develop embedded systemsDuties include:
o Architect, design, and document FPGA firmware hierarchies, components, interfaces, and data flows.o Develop firmware in accordance with detailed designs descriptions.o Simulate and test firmware components in preparation for integration.o Define FPGA timing, pinout, and placement constraints.o Review synthesis and timing reports, address issues.o Integrate and test firmware on target hardware.o Identify necessary schematic updates and hardware reworks to support design.o Utilize FPGA tools and laboratory equipment for integration and debug.o Document failures, identify root causes, implement fixes, and verify changes.o Maintain configuration management documentation for the FPGA designKeys Skills:
o Experience implementing FPGA firmware including custom VHDL components containing state machines, synchronous/asynchronous logic, processes, and external interfaces.o Understanding of the underlying FPGA fabric the firmware utilizeso Experience working across cross-clock boundaries.o Familiarity with Xilinx (AMD) and/or Altera (Intel) compiler, programming, and debug toolso Experience reviewing schematics, parts lists, and re-work documentation.o Methodical problem-solving skillso Motivation to independently research and resolve issues.o Strong written and oral communication skillsWhat Sets You Apart:
