Exciting opportunity with a Fortune 500 company. Our client is seeking a Field Support Technician to assist in the support of their desktop, server and network environment. The responsibilities for this role include:
Provide first & second level Help Desk support for PC/LAN and laptop/workstation end-users.
Update and monitor problem tracking and reporting systems; maintain the trouble log for the Service Center.
Provide routine problem prioritization, reporting and recommendations to management.
Maintain technical and procedure documentation for Help Desk, PC desktop/laptop configuration standards and install procedures.
Develop, maintain and communicate Help Desk solutions documentation and procedures for routine end-user issues.
Develop, maintain and communicate standard hardware/software setup and configuration profiles.
Manage PC system lifecycle activities including configuration, deployment support retirement and tracking (Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.)
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues as they occur.
Establish and maintain technical and end-user operating procedures.
Assist in server & network infrastructure projects.
Assist with the daily support of server and network infrastructure equipment.
Acquire new hardware/software for users as approved, assist in asset tag control and inventory management.
Assist in the management of user accounts and AD accounts using established procedures.
Order and receive products from various industry vendors and work with support staff to resolve issues.
Install troubleshoots and maintains various printing devices
Document all installation changes and new procedures.
Use our approved ticketing application to track issues
Two or more years' experience with automated software delivery, desktop support and printing.
Electrical Industry Experience - Two or more years' experience working in an industrial environment. Electrical generation experience preferred.
Knowledge of plant control systems in the electric industry
Knowledge / experience with SCADA systems in the electric industry
Ability / experience with setting priorities for support based upon general guidelines
Ability to work in remote facilities with no direct supervision and
Problem ownership: Ability to take on issues and drive them to a successful outcome
Possess a valid U. S. driver's license
Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, CIS, or equivalent experience
Extensive knowledge of computer hardware / software
Project management -- experience managing small projects
Proficient in Microsoft Operating systems, MS Office, Trend, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, VPN, and MS Outlook/ Exchange, Citrix,
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required in order to provide appropriate client support and interaction.
Ability to work independently and with little direct supervision.
Ability to work effectively with clients and IT staff
Ability to be liaison/ambassador with other areas of IT
Strong troubleshooting / diagnostic skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
