Design Engineer - Construction Engineering
Position Summary
Responsibilities include supporting the design and construction process of tower modifications with emphasis on balancing cost, quality and speed. This position leads or participates in projects relating to technical aspects of modification designs and practicality considerations of construction.
Essential Job Functions
oPerform quality assurance reviews of external vendor's modification designs
oWork with internal and external engineers and contractors to identify, research and implement best practices relating to the design and construction of tower modifications
oAssist or manage engineering projects as assigned
oPreform design and construction studies relating to tower modifications
oProvide support for field related construction issues on a site or program level
oLead or assist in the development of standards, processes, scopes of work, and technical directives
oBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, specializing in structures, or equivalent
oFundamentals of Engineering Exam - EIT Designation
Experience/Minimum Requirements
oThree (3) years of engineering experience
oTelecommunication industry experience preferred
oAnalysis and design experience with the modifications of telecommunication towers and their foundations
Other Skills/Abilities
oExperience leading small projects
oKnowledge of bolted and welded connection design
oKnowledge of tower hardware and components
oExperience or knowledge of steel shop fabrication processes and/or knowledge of fabrication shop tools and capabilities
oDetail oriented and self-motivated
oGood written and oral communication skills
oKnowledge of industry codes and standards such as ANSI/EIA/TIA 222, IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, etc.
oWide variety of knowledge of different types of towers and foundations and the problems associated with them
oExperience using MS Excel and other general purpose software for engineering calculations
oExperience using RISA Tower software preferred, but not required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
